????The Kiln Sites at Jinjiaoyi Hill of Cizao Kilns is an outstanding representative of export-oriented production bases in the ancient port of Zayton and one of the major production bases and systems of porcelain, an important product Chinacontributed to the world during the 10th-14th centuries. The kilns are located along Meixi River, a tributary of Jinjiang River, enjoying favorable conditions of water transportation. Facilities for the whole process of porcelain-making have been well preserved in these sites, including clay selection, cleaning and processing, firing, storage and transportation. Porcelain wares of Cizao Kiln series feature diverse types and designs, including daily utensils, furnishings and building materials. With distinctive cultural features of Southeast Asia and EastAfrica, they were exported to East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, West Asia and even East Africa. The kiln sites and unearthed objects are the important evidence to testify to the prosperous export-oriented porcelain industry of ancient Quanzhou during the 10th-14th centuries.
